The only people who would need to retake the teaching courses would be those who want to change what age range of people they want to teach and for those who have no prior degree. The major differences between a teaching degree and English as a second language degree include the following courses: technology for English as a second language teachers, linguistics, grammar, intercultural and cross cultural communications, and second language acquisition to name a few.

Although you may have been speaking English your entire life, you will still need a degree in order to teach it to someone else.
