In order to make it easier for people to earn a college degree, many schools are offering online degree programs. One such institution is Atlanta Technical College, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

This college recently announced that it will offer students two-year online associate's degrees in subjects such as accounting, paralegal studies, marketing management and business administrative technology. Tuition will be about $50 per credit hour and the curricula for the programs will be the same as campus-based classes.

While there are higher benefits for individuals pursing a bachelor's or a master's degree, individuals who earn an associate's degree online will see similar advantages.

For example, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals who earn an associate's degree earn about $39,572 annually, compared to $32,552 per year with only a high school diploma.

Additionally, people who have an associate's can have more employment opportunities. The source reports that in 2009 about 34 million individuals with this degree were employed, compared with only 10 million people who had less than a high school diploma.
